Desperate Middle Class Blues is the name of a song, the name of my Substack Channel, and now the name of a show. It deals with personal stories of living through late stage capitalism.

12.06.26 Los Angeles, CA - Pleased to announce a new show of original songs and scenes at 1642 Bar (1642 W Temple St. LA, CA 90026) - a neighborhood joint near Echo Park Lake known for jazz and ol' times tunes.

You'll feel like you've stumbled into a secret New Orleans speakeasy that only locals know about for a one-off musical evening featuring amazing musicians and performers playing timeless songs and weaving wonderful tales.

Two sets starting at 9PM - We’re crafting a night that blends live music and theatrical storytelling that explores how we continue to wake-up everyday and meet it with love, anger, and humanity’s stupid penchant for optimism, all at a venue that is small and intimate - total hidden-gem feel.

We're honoring 1642 Bar's neighborhood feel with this no cover show that is open to the public.
